Our Story

MobileMaplets began as a pioneering application in the world of offline digital mapping. For over a decade, it served millions of travelers, hikers, and explorers who needed reliable access to maps without an internet connection.

However, technology evolves. As the original Maplets application has been retired, this website has pivoted to a new mission: serving as a comprehensive informational archive and review hub for the mobile mapping community.

Our Mission

To help outdoor enthusiasts find the best, most reliable offline mapping tools to stay safe and oriented, anywhere in the world.

What We Do

We are a team of map enthusiasts and digital explorers. We know that when you are 10 miles into the backcountry, or navigating a foreign subway system, you cannot rely on a spotty cell signal. You need downloaded, offline assets.

On this site, you will find:

  • In-depth Reviews: Honest assessments of modern mapping apps like Gaia GPS, AllTrails, and Organic Maps.
  • Travel Guides: curated mapping resources for popular destinations like National Parks and Transit systems.
  • Tutorials: How to use GPX files, save battery life while tracking, and interpret topographic data.

Not The App Developer

Please note: We are an independent publication. We are not the developers of the original software and cannot provide technical support for old installations. We exist to point you toward the best modern solutions available today.
